If you have taken the opportunity to use my location photography service and seen the images of a badly defaced memorial covered in lichen and encrusted dirt you may want to have your family headstones cleaned - another service I can offer.

Marble, granite and slate headstones are all suitable for cleaning and the results can be impressive. Those made from sandstone, limestone and composite stone are not suitable for cleaning using the same method due to the composition of the stone; instead any cleaning must be carried out very carefully so as not to damage the stone's fragile surface.

Below are a few examples of the results that can be achieved.

While every effort would be made to clean a suitable headstone I cannot guarantee that the result would be perfect. The environment over the decades damages or discolours the surface of most types of stone. Some other materials used may not be stable, an example being copper lettering which bleeds into the stone.
